What kind of skier/telemarker do I need to be?
Participants must be very aggressive intermediate…
Each of our tours includes a brief avalanche awareness class. These short seminars are not in replacement of an avalanche class which we recommend each client take for your own safety and backcountry knowledge. These seminars are provided so we can assess our clients ability to use an avalanche beacon and familiarity with traveling “off piste”.
What level of Mountain Biker do I need to be?
Intermediate to expert. Our days on the bikes will be long, so appropriate fitness is necessary. We are able to tweak our itinerary to suit the level of the group.
What level of Kayaker do I need to be?
Most of the water we will paddle is class 4.
What level of Climber do I need to be?
Our climbing tours, winter and summer, are developed around the skill level of the group.
What level of Hiker do I need to be?
Our treks are all developed around the ability of the group.
Equipment needed?
Skiing: fat boards, all mountain boards, AT gear, telemark skis…whatever you feel most comfortable on. Ski clothing, boots and a backpack for gear are also necessary. if you have backcountry gear, please bring it. Backcountry gear is available from your guide in France, however, equipment is not available on our Chilean trips.
Mountain Biking: mountain bike, shoes, helmet, appropriate clothing and rain gear.
Kayaking: Clothing, all other gear will be provided by the guides.
Climbing: Clothing and any gear you deem necessary for yourself. Climbing gear will be provided by the guides.
Trekking: Boots, warm clothing, backpack, rain gear, small lightweight sleeping bag or sheet for back up.
WE WORK CLOSELY WITH 2 SHOPS THAT ARE ABLE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH ALL THE NECESSARY EQUIPEMENT INCLUDING BACKCOUNTRY GEAR, BIKE BOXES, SKI BAGS AND CLOTHING. PLEASE SEND US YOUR WISH LIST AND WE WILL HAVE A SALES PERSON CONTACT YOU.
What about the language barrier?
No worries, our guides are all multi lingual. The majority of employees at the chalets and hotels we use are able to communicate in English.
